What do we believe about salvation?
Salvation is offered freely by God to all people, but we must accept it.
We can never make up for our sins through self-improvement or good works. Only
by trusting in Jesus Christ as God's offer of forgiveness can anyone be saved
from sin's penalty.
What
do we believe about eternal security?
Because God gives eternal life through Jesus Christ, the true believer is
secure in that salvation for eternity. If you are genuinely saved, you cannot
lose your salvation. Salvation
is maintained by the grace and power of God, not by the good deeds of the
Christian. As we
genuinely experience God's love and forgiveness, we are led to live in a
manner that would honor God and make Him known.
What
do we believe about eternity?
People were created to exist forever. We will either eternally exist in
heaven or hell. Both are literal places.
Our eternal place of existence is based upon a proper relationship with
Jesus Christ (heaven) or a lack thereof (hell).
What
do we believe about God?
God is Creator and Ruler of the universe.
He has eternally existed in three personalities: the Father, the Son, and
the Holy Spirit. These three are co-equal and are one God.
What
do we believe about Jesus Christ?
Jesus is the Son of God, co-equal with the Father. Jesus was born
of a virgin, lived a sinless life and offered himself as a perfect sacrifice for
the sins of humanity. He arose from the dead after three days to demonstrate his
power over sin and death. He will one day reign as Lord of Lords.
What
do we believe about the Holy Spirit?
The Holy Spirit is co-equal with God and Jesus. He is present in the
world to make people aware of their need for salvation. He also lives in every
Christian from the moment of salvation, providing power for living,
understanding of Spiritual truth, and guidance in doing what is right. He
provides each believer with at least one spiritual gift to be used for the
building of other believers and for furthering those who are pre-Christian.
What
do we believe about the Bible?
The Bible is God's word to us. It was written by human authors, under
the supernatural guidance of the Holy Spirit. It is inspired by God without any
mixture of error.
What
do we believe about human beings?
People are made in the image of God and are the supreme object of God's
creation. Although every person has tremendous potential for good, all of us are
marred by a nature of disobedience toward God. This nature results in our
personal sin that separates us from God.
